Keep the good comedians coming.
- 2011 was a bit of a let down compared to what i expected from 2010. Jack Whitehall is a no good...spotlight stealer. Throw Dylan Moran on there, or put Danny Bhoy on there, he was perfect in the 2010 show. Editor's note: Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course. Who knows - this year may uncover brand new talent you've never seen before.

Sleeping Beauty
- For slightly older kids - they get invited onto the stage and the performers interact as if they are kids too, so that they are immersed into the dark magical story and constantly feel like they might be asked to join in the storytelling. If kids want something more exciting and memorable than standard patronising clowns and comedy, this is something fantastic to see. Performed and created by young students who are truly passionate about their work. Higly recommended!

The Prodigals - New Musical
- I stumbled on some rehearsal videos of a new musical that's premiering at the Guilded Balloon this year called 'The Prodigals'. The behind the scenes videos that i've seen make it look like its going to be great. A mixture of modern pop, rock, with a backdrop of the army and youth culture by the looks of things, very intriguing! The vids are on youtube or on their website - www.theprodigalsmusical.com

The I Hate Children Children's Show
- I really think this is the best children's show at the festival. Three Weeks Magazine made it an editors pick last year and said "I can attest to the overall wonderfullness of this show".

My recommendations
- There's a few acts that I've been watching in London who have caught my eye: Superbard http://www.superbard.co.uk performs a sort of weird mix of storytelling and music with a video backdrop. Also helps that his stories are sometimes funny, sometimes properly can make you think. Max and Ivan - www.maxandivan.co.uk Sketch duo that ooze charisma and charm Harry Baker - 19-year old poet who's doing a limited run at the free fringe. Saw him at a Flea Circus in the Dogstar and he was fantastic.

I want to see David Reed
- The guy from the Penny Dreadfuls comedy troupe is doing a solo show in 2011. I think he's one to watch.

The Velveteen Rabbit
- Loved this story when I was a kid. Backhand Theatre is doing it at C eca at Edinburgh College of Art for the festival. Great kids show no doubt.

The Toy Box
- Don't miss the Toybox at the Standup Comedy Club on York Place. Some great acts will be doing standup for kids, magic, games and all sorts.
