Chatsworth International Horse Trials - Equestrian Champions at a Stately Home

By Ferne Arfin, About.com

  • What: An unusual horse show at a popular stately home
  • When: May 12 and 13
  • Where: Chatsworth House
  • Admission: £10 and £12, under 14s free, parking £2.50
All the elements of a major horse show are here -- dressage, show jumping, cross-country with the finals determining the World Cup qualifier. But what makes this show unique is that, in keeping with Chatsworth's reputation for fine and contemporary art, many of the "fences" and jumps are actually works of art by internationally renowned sculptors.

The two day event, drawing many of the world's leading riders, also features sheepdog displays, birds of prey, pony club games, children's entertainment and reduced price entry to Chatsworth House, one of England's most popular stately homes.
