Royal Ascot is the social event of the British racing and royal calendar. The crowds come out for the prestigious horse racing, of course, and to see the Queen and other members of the royal family. But the real spectacle of Royal Ascot is the fashion parade of Ladies' Day. Hats are de riguer and they range from the bizarre to the beautiful. But usually, the more outrageous the better.
