The canals light up with decorated boats and local celebs as part of Birmingham's all out holiday season festivities. In 2007, 20 lit and decorated boats represented theaters, restaurants even the Birmingham Girl Guides. Noddy Holder, of Slade, was expected to be floated down the canal on a "glam rock" narrow boat. The best decorated boat makes a "lap of honor" back to the NIA for a fireworks finale.
