No visitor destination in the UK would be complete without a big, multi-stall antique center. Who knows if anyone ever finds a bargain but that's not really the point, is it? If you like poking around a mixture of crafts, collectibles and junk, looking for potential treasures, they are irresistable.
Stratford's has 50 dealers on two floors plus a courtyard full of little shops. We liked the military figures and toy soldiers - some antique and some modern collectables - at Bugle and Drum. John Troughton, the propietor, is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The Antiques Centre is open every day, including Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
