Dr. Hall was famous in his own right for discovering and prescribing a herbal cure for scurvy, about 100 years before British Naval Physicians began prescribing limes for the vitamin C deficiency disease. His case book, collected and published after his death, provides insight into the practice of a provincial doctor.
Dr. Hall's consulting room at Hall's Croft has an exhibition of artifacts, notes and medical tools.
Visit Hall's Croft and stop in the pleasant tea room for a cuppa. Do some carb loading too, so that you can hold out for an after theatre supper.
