- Getting there:The museum is an easy walk from York Railway Station. Trains from London take less than two hours and leave every half hour from London King's Cross. There is a "Road Train" from the center of York with frequent trips to the Museum from Duncombe Place, next to York Minster.

What to See at the National Railway Museum
Kids can climb aboard some of the world's most iconic trains - the UK steam engine record setter, The Mallard, a Japanese Bullet Train and a giant locomotive built in Britain for the Chinese railways.There are daily demonstrations of awe inspiring machinery - like the turntable, for turning locomotives, in the Great Hall; Theatre programs about railway history and railroad inventors, and visits from Thomas the Tank Engine during some school vacations.
