Travelodge is a huge chain of basic lodgings in the UK and Ireland. It is aimed at travelers passing through enroute to someplace else; the Dunkirk motel is part of a motorway service area on the A2, five miles west of Canterbury. Rooms have no character whatsoever, breakfast is not included and usually not available either.
That said, the Travelodge chain offers a reliably clean and reasonably modern room with no frills - usually not even a telephone. This one is useful for travelers stopping off in Canterbury on the way to the Channel ferry ports in Dover and the Channel Tunnel entrance in Folkestone.
