In the Dame Nellie Room the bed is swathed in golden damasks, velvets and silky fringe. The room is named in honor of the 19th century Australian Diva who stayed often when performing at the Royal Albert Hall.
The hotel remains popular with The Albert Hall's artists, musicians and celebrities as well as guests from the worlds of fashion and media, who are, no doubt, drawn by the Gore's idiosyncratic decor. The Tudor Room, for example, has a minstrel's gallery, a huge stone fireplace and a copper clad shower. In another room, the elaborate bed once belonged to Judy Garland.
