Luton has become the base for many of the low-cost airlines that connect the UK with Europe and the rest of the world. easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Monarch Scheduled, Aer Arann and Silverjet, all have scheduled flights. Thomsonfly, First Choice, Thomas Cook and Monarch also use Luton as a charter base. Among the 85 destinations served is New York through Newark Airport.

The selection of shops and restaurants is limited and includes typical airport gift shops and convenience stores.
All travel arrangements, from local transportation and car rentals to national rail journeys, can be arranged at a the Onward Travel Center in the terminal.
