Hereford is known for its cider and perry and the rare, old fashioned apple and pear varieties grown in the county. The annual October food festival takes off from there - bringing together farmers and producers, consumers, restauranteurs and retailers. There are cooking demonstrations, celebrity chefs and plenty to taste and try:
- rare breed meats
- dairy foods
- fruit and vegetables
- local wines and
spirits, cider, perry, beers
- biscuits, cakes and
pastries
- confectionery
- charcuterie
- preserves
and lots more.
There's a food theatre program, and demonstrations of growing and cooking with unusual ingredients like quince. All together this looks like a fine autumn day out for foodies and foodie families in a lovely part of the UK.
