Edinburgh turns itself into a giant science fair in April. For twelve days, kids, families and adults can enjoy non-stop shows, workshops, science exhibitions, tours, hands on activities and more - at 14 different venues.

The object is to remind everyone that science is fun. Among the highlights:

  • Wonderama, at the Assembly Rooms on George Street, with a changing array of star attractions, arena shows and drop in events for budding scientists, aspiring surgeons, wannabe secret agents, trainee archaeologists and more.
  • The Botanics, at the Royal Botanic Garden, with daily events including Bananas and the Stuff of Life, where you can extract DNA from this everyday fruit.
  • Animation Creations
  • Colourful Chemistry
  • Cracking Codes, and loads more.

    Tickets are available online at the Festival website, or at the door of most events.
