Walking in England - Where to Stay along The South Downs Way
The South Downs Way is an easy day out from London. But the route passes many lovely, historic and typically English towns and villages. So several days walking in the South Downs can be very rewarding. Many WWII veterans will remember this area for its important role as a staging area for D-Day and after. Local tourist authorities have lists of dozens of B&Bs along or near the route. For a real treat, stay in one of the country house inns or luxury hotels on or near the South Downs Way.
