Why is this special?:
The Barley Hall, where this market is held is an unusual building. Forgotten, and buried among derelict workshops, it was discovered a few years ago, in the middle of the city, and restored. It is a rare, medieval townhouse, once the home of William Snawsell, Mayor of York in the 15th century. It has now been restored to its Medieval glory.
Crafts and items for sale at this Christmas Market reflect the historic period of the house itself.
