UK Guidebooks from Lonely Planet

Lonely Planet Guides have their fans and their detractors. I find that if I know an area well, I'm irritated by the Lonely Planet Guide - its organization, its omissions and inclusions all get up my nose.

But the funny thing is, when I'm a visitor just like every other guidebook reader, I love Lonely Planet Guides. So go figure. Obviously they've got it just about right if you're a stranger in town.
