April Showers? - London and England's South East Wake Up to Snow
I just couldn't resist sharing this view from my window at 8 a.m. this morning. What a surprise to wake up to snow - quite heavy, swirling snow - falling in London (where Londoners will be quick to tell you it just never snows!). Well, what's this world coming too? It just proves that the Met Office's 30-year weather averages are a complete waste of time if you are planning a trip to the UK lately. My advice? Bring waterproofs and layers - no matter when you come. Actually, with the weather as globally-warmed and turned upside down as it is these days, that's probably good advice wherever in the world you go.
Meanwhile, the Brits put on a stiff upper lip and welcome spring no matter what seems to be falling from the sky (around the cherry blossoms and magnolias I can see from my other window). So check out what's happening around the UK in April. And don't forget to pack gloves and a wooly hat!
