Right about now, Jane Austen was probably sitting at her desk in Chawton, Hampshire, examing the freshly delivered first edition of her novel "Pride and Prejudice," published exactly 200 years ago, yesterday. All over the world, Jane Austen Societies and organizations will be celebrating the anniversary with events, festivals, lectures, exhibitions, performances, workshops and more, throughout 2013. To help you plan to attend (or to promote) an event, Jane Austen's House Museum has published a special Pride and Prejudice 200 website coordinating details of events wherever they are happening. There are contact details on the site so you can submit your organization's event for consideration.
I'll be heading out to Jane Austen's House Museum later this month to look around on your behalf so watch for story and pictures coming soon.
