Could I be fined for packing? No, not a sawn off shotgun, just a bag of potato chips.
Maybe.
I just found out that next time I travel to Boston, I can bring live lobsters from the airport back to the UK. More than 40 lbs worth in fact (if I can figure out how to keep them alive).
But bring back one little bag of potato chips - or jars of honey totalling more than 4lb - and I could be in big trouble.
A handy online database from DEFRA (UK Dept. for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), puts all the rules in an easy to find search format - by country, food category and product - so you need never worry about putting a foot (or a potato chip) wrong.
