This past summer, I toured the Glenfiddich distillery during celebrations of that distiller's first 50-year-old single malt scotch whisky in nearly 20 years. Fifty of us were invited to Dufftown in Scotland to taste a rare and phenomenally expensive collectors' whisky.
This was a once in a lifetime experience, but touring the distilleries of Speyside is not. There are more malt whisky distilleries in the Spey Valley than anywhere else in Scotland. Anyone can stop by to see how Scotch whisky is made and, perhaps, taste a dram or two.
Join me for an armchair travelers tour of a Scotch whisky distillery and find out about Speyside distilleries you can visit.
