Anglo Saxon Gold Draws Crowds

Hundreds of people lined up today to see part of the Staffordshire Hoard of Anglo Saxon gold at the Birmingham Museum and Gallery. The gold, discovered in July and revealed to the public yesterday, will remain on display in Birmingham, not far from where it was found, until October 13. After that, it will be sent to the British Museum for valuation.
Once the value of the hoard is determined, various museums will be able to bid on it . A joint bid by Staffordshire County Council, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery is in the air. Whichever museum succeeds in acquiring the gold, what it pays will likely become the reward money to be shared by the finder and the landowner.
Likely but not a sure thing - because UK treasure and Scottish treasure trove actually belongs to the Queen.
