Look Before You Leap - UK Webcams Put You in the Picture

Saturday May 24, 2008
The BBC has reported that the UK is the most "surveilled" society in the world. There are a lot of CCTV and webcams out there watching us. Just last week the government announced funding for 20 towns to install CCTV that talks back -- tells you to bin that litter or put away that can of spray paint, pronto.

It may seem a bit creepy but, one result of Big Brother watching us, is the enormous number of webcams you can visit. You can check the weather in the highlands, see what people are wearing in Leicester Square, get an idea of how the surf is running in Cornwall, or watch the Gateshead Millennium Bridge tilt - all before you get to the UK.
