The Edinburgh International Film Festival Moves to June

Friday May 2, 2008
keira_knightley For the first time in its 61 year history, the Edinburgh International Film Festival will be held in June. The world's oldest continuously run annual film festival is scheduled for June 18 to 29, breaking it free from the glut of Edinburgh arts festivals in August.

Keira Knightley will be the star attraction of the opening gala which will feature the world premier of The Edge of Love, a Dylan Thomas biopic starring Knightley along with Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys and Cillian Murphy. The film was written by Glasgow playwright and scriptwriter Sharman Macdonald who, as it happens, is Keira Knightley's mother.
