It's Always Time for Tea at Bettys

Finding a traditional English afternoon tea or a cream tea (pot of tea, scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream) isn't always easy these days. The every day feast of sweets and starches has gone the way of most people's waistlines and is now usually a special occasion or party treat.

One place where you can always find hundreds of cakes and at least 50 different teas and coffees, is Bettys Cafe and Tea Rooms in York, a local institution since 1936.
